Autumn Wedding Photography at Blake Hall Essex: On Friday I photographed Diane and Nick’s wedding at the lovely Blake Hall (https://www.blakehall.net/) in Ongar, Essex.

I arrived at the bride’s home near Bishops Stortford on the morning of the wedding where the bride and her family were getting ready. The weather forecast for the day was for possible showers and cloudy. My aim is to tell the story of the wedding through my photography, capturing real emotions and natural moments as they happen, as well as some of the formal and posed photographs.

I then made the short journey to Blake Hall as the rain clouds gathered.

The ceremony took place in the Hay Barn which makes a beautiful setting, a warm feel of natural wood.

After the ceremony it was light drizzle and we managed to go outside for the big group photograph before the rain came down.

The rest of the drinks reception took place back inside the Hay Barn and an amazing singer entertained everyone.

Towards the end of the drinks reception there was a break in the rain so we decided to pop to the gardens for a few wedding portraits.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast in the Essex Barn followed by the speeches.

After the speeches the couple had their first dance.

We managed to get a sunset shot. I had a lovely day with Diane and Nick, and the rain certainly didn’t dampen the mood of the day.

Spring Wedding Photography at Blake Hall: On Saturday I photographed Jess and Lewis’ wedding at the amazing Blake Hall (http://www.blakehall.co.uk/) where I am a recommended wedding photographer.

I arrived at Blake Hall on an overcast, Spring morning and the Daffodils were in bloom. The bride and bridesmaids were getting ready in the Old Coach House. My aim is to tell the wedding story through my photography, and capture the true emotion and natural moments of the day. Although I do pose up a few photographs, I try to keep the majority as natural as possible.

It wasn’t long before the groom arrived along with his groomsmen.

It was time for the wedding ceremony and it took place in the Hay Barn. This is a beautifully renovated barn which has manage to blend modern with rustic perfectly.

As the weather was a bit unpredictable we had the big group photograph straight after the ceremony.

After a bit of warmth and some refreshments, I took the couple for their wedding portraits in the stunning gardens at Blake Hall. Did I mention the Daffodils were out?

We also had a few family and friend group photographs before heading into the Essex Barn for the wedding breakfast.

After the speeches the couple cut their cake and had their first dance. Dean from Lovelight Entertainment (http://lovelightentertainment.co.uk/) was the DJ and provided some dramtic lighting.

As there wasn’t a sunset opportunity we had a night shot instead. I had a lovely time with Jess and Lewis and I hope I managed to capture the true essence of their day.

Blake Hall Wedding Photography April: On Saturday I photographed Katy and Dan’s wedding at Blake Hall (http://www.blakehall.co.uk/) near Ongar, Essex.

I arrived at Blake Hall on the morning of the wedding and it was light rain in the air. My role as photographer is to capture the story of the wedding day as it unfolds. I try to take more natural photographs along with any formal photographs the couple have asked for. I also capture all the details and decorations that have themed the day. The bridal party were getting ready in the Old Coach House.

The makeup was being done by Sam from Beautiful You (http://www.beautiful-you.biz/) who I know well.

I caught up with the groom and best man for a couple of photographs. We popped outside as it was very light drizzle.

The ceremony took place in the Hay Barn.

As it was quite a large wedding party, we did have to brave the elements for a couple minutes to get the big group photograph, but everyone knew this was for the bride and groom and they were all happy to assist me.

One of the main parts of the day for me is to capture the bride and grooms portraits. As it was a wet day we waited for a gap in the rain, unfortunately this didn’t arrive. The bride came prepared with a couple of umbrellas and they were happy to venture out into the wet. From my point of view I am more than happy to shoot outdoors when it is raining as I know I can capture a “dry day” look to the photographs and outdoor photographs always look better, especially when the venue has beautiful grounds like Blake Hall. I think we embraced the weather and it added a romantic value.

For a couple of shots we put the umbrellas down for a few seconds.

The best man was on hand to carry pretty much everything!

After drying off, it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by the speeches.

Fenton Gee (http://www.fentongee.com/) was the DJ for the evening party.

My aim is to tell the wedding story through photographs, capturing the real emotion and joy of the wedding day. From natural, candid moments as well as some traditional style shots, I cover the day in a relaxed way.

The bride and bridal party were all getting ready in the Old Coach House. I was working alongside Steve the videographer and we worked well together.

The groom arrived in a Noble sports car!

The ceremony took place in the Hay Barn.

The drinks reception is a great opportunity for me to capture candid shots of the guests enjoying themselves.

We went for the wedding portraits using the private gardens at Blake Hall.

We also had a few group photographs and the confetti.

The wedding meal took place in the Essex Barn.

The harpist was great and played lovely music all afternoon.

Magician Nick Crown (http://www.nickcrown.co.uk/) was entertaining the guests.

After the meal we took advantage of the evening light for a couple of photos on the drive.

The DJ was Leon from Disco 1 (http://www.disco1.co.uk/).

I had a great time with Lauren, Grant and their family and friends. It was fun to shoot at Blake Hall again, and there gardens are looking lovely. There was also an opportunity for a sunset shot.
